About Dropvert

Dropvert is a file conversion and tooling platform. Drop almost any file — an image, a document, a video, an audio clip, a font — and Dropvert figures out what it is and shows you the formats you can convert it to. Click a target format, and the converted file downloads, usually in a few seconds.

The platform supports 95+ formats today across images, documents, video, audio, data formats, ebooks, and fonts. Beyond conversion, Dropvert ships a growing toolkit: image compression and resizing, background removal, OCR, GIF and PDF compression, watermarking, face blurring, metadata erasure, QR code and favicon generation, and AI logo, icon, and illustration tools.

Most conversions run inside your browser using WebAssembly. The same libraries that power professional desktop tools — ffmpeg, libvips, pdf.js, ONNX models — now run client-side, fast enough that round-tripping a file through someone else's server is the slower option. When a conversion can run locally, Dropvert does it locally.

Some conversions need server-side processing — certain document and ebook formats, the AI generators, share-link delivery. Those run on our infrastructure using the credits granted to your account. We pick local whenever it produces the same result, and we surface the line clearly when a tool needs the server.

I'm Diego. I kept running into the same problem: I needed to convert a file, the tool I wanted didn't quite exist, and the tools that did exist were either missing the format I needed, gated basic features behind a sign-up, or felt designed to upsell me before they'd let me get my work done.
