Remove pages, detect blanks, and download a clean PDF.

PDF files only

Most PDFs you receive have at least one page you don't want — a blank scanner separator, a duplicate header, an unrelated cover. Dropvert's PDF Editor gives you a visual page manager: every page as a thumbnail, click to keep or remove, optionally auto-detect blank pages, then download a clean PDF.

How it works

3-step walkthrough

  1. 1

Drop a PDF (up to 200 MB)

Dropvert generates a thumbnail for each page using pdf.js, with the originals stored in browser memory.

  2. 2

    Pick which pages to keep

Click each page thumbnail to toggle "keep" or "remove". Bulk actions: select all, deselect all, or auto-detect blank pages and remove them in one click.

  3. 3

    Build the cleaned PDF

Dropvert uses pdf-lib to copy only the kept pages into a new PDF. Page order matches the source.

Frequently asked questions

6 answered

Does this preserve text selectability and bookmarks?
Text selectability: yes — pages are copied byte-for-byte without re-rendering. Bookmarks and outlines: partially. pdf-lib copies the page content but doesn't fully maintain bookmark targets. For PDFs where the table-of-contents must survive, use a more comprehensive PDF editor.
How does blank-page detection work?
Each page is rendered to a small thumbnail and Dropvert measures the average pixel variance. Pages with very low variance (close to a uniform color, usually white) are flagged as blank. Sensitivity controls the threshold — Low catches only obviously blank pages, High catches near-blank ones (single-line headers, faint scanner artifacts). Auto-marked blanks can be manually un-flagged before exporting.
Can I reorder pages?
Not yet — page reordering is on the roadmap. Currently the editor supports remove + auto-detect blanks. The output preserves the original order of the kept pages.
Is there a page limit?
Practical limit is ~500 pages — Dropvert generates thumbnails for each, which takes time and browser memory. Files up to 200 MB are accepted, but very long documents are noticeably slower than short ones.
Will the file size shrink after removing pages?
Yes, proportionally to how much content you removed. Removing pages copies only the kept content, dropping fonts and images that were only used by the removed pages. For deeper compression, run the result through PDF Optimizer.
Can I edit the content within a page (text, images)?
No — this tool only operates on pages as units. For in-page edits (annotations, redactions, text replacement), use a full PDF editor like Acrobat, PDFescape, or LibreOffice Draw.
