A QR code that looks like every other QR code blends into the background. Dropvert's generator gives you the styling layer most generators skip: rounded dots, custom corner shapes, gradients, and an embedded logo — while keeping the code scannable. Output up to 2048×2048 PNG or scalable SVG.

How it works

3-step walkthrough

  1. 1

    Type the URL or text

Anything that fits in a QR — a link, a Wi-Fi password, a phone number, plain text. Dropvert renders the code live as you type.

  2. 2

    Style it

Pick dot shape (square, rounded, dots, classy, extra-rounded), corner shape, foreground/background color or gradient. Optionally drop in a logo image — Dropvert auto-bumps the error correction so the code stays scannable.

  3. 3

Download as PNG, JPEG, or SVG

Pick output size (256, 512, 1024, or 2048 pixels) for raster formats. SVG scales to any size and is the right choice for print materials.

Frequently asked questions

6 answered

How much can I put in a QR code?
Up to about 2,953 bytes of plain text or 4,296 alphanumeric characters at the highest density — but the more you put in, the denser (and harder to scan) the code. For a simple URL, a Wi-Fi password, or a short message, you're nowhere near the limit. For long URLs, use a URL shortener first.
Will adding a logo break scanning?
Adding a logo covers part of the code, which would normally make it unscannable. Dropvert auto-raises the error correction level when a logo is enabled — that adds redundancy so the code can lose up to 30% of its surface and still scan. Keep the logo under about 25% of the total area.
Should I output PNG or SVG?
SVG for anything that gets resized or printed (business cards, posters, packaging) — it scales to any size with no pixelation. PNG for digital use where you need a fixed size and broad app compatibility.
Why is my QR code with a transparent background not scanning well?
QR scanners look for high contrast between dark and light. On a transparent background, the code's "light" pixels show whatever's behind them in the host context, which can drop contrast. Use a solid background unless you can guarantee a clean-white surface behind the code.
Can I save these styles and reuse them?
Yes — save a preset from the styling bar and reload it on the next visit. Free accounts get 2 presets per tool; Pro is unlimited.
Does Dropvert track who scans my QR codes?
No. Dropvert generates the code and that's it — there's no analytics URL inserted, no tracking pixel. The destination is exactly what you typed. If you need scan analytics, use a URL shortener with built-in stats.
