Resizing for a specific platform — Instagram post, YouTube thumbnail, LinkedIn banner — usually means looking up dimensions, cropping by hand, and exporting. Dropvert's resizer collapses that into a one-step drop: type the dimensions you want, pick a preset, or crop interactively, and you get the output ready to ship.

How it works

3-step walkthrough

  1. 1

Drop a JPEG, PNG, WebP, or AVIF

Drag a single image or up to 20 at once. Dropvert reads the original dimensions automatically and shows them next to the input fields.

  2. 2

    Pick dimensions or a preset

Type exact width and height, lock the aspect ratio so one value drives the other, or use a social-media preset (Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, WhatsApp).

  3. 3

    Optionally crop and rotate

Switch to the crop tab for an interactive viewport with rotation, free-form crop, or common aspect-locked crop ratios. Download the result, or convert format in the same step.

Why use Dropvert

  • High-quality Lanczos resampling via Pica — what desktop tools use, fully in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

6 answered

What's the difference between cover, contain, and stretch?
Cover fills the target dimensions and crops the overflow. Contain fits the image inside without cropping, padding the rest with white. Stretch deforms the image to match exactly. Cover is what you usually want for thumbnails, contain for full-image preservation, stretch for very specific layouts.
Will resizing make the image blurry?
Dropvert uses Lanczos resampling — what professional desktop tools use — so downscaling is essentially lossless visually. Upscaling beyond the source resolution always loses detail; for that, use a dedicated AI upscaler instead of a resizer.
Can I keep the same aspect ratio when entering only one dimension?
Yes. Toggle the lock between width and height. With it on, typing one value computes the other from the source aspect ratio automatically.
Are the social-media preset dimensions kept up to date?
We update them when platforms change. Current presets cover Instagram (post, story, reel), X header, LinkedIn banner, YouTube thumbnail, Facebook cover/post, WhatsApp status, Pinterest pin, and the 1200×630 Open Graph default.
Is the crop destructive to the original?
No. The crop is applied to the file you download. The original on your device is untouched. You can preview different crops before exporting.
How many images can I batch?
Up to 20 per batch. All get the same dimensions and scaling method, bundled into one zip.
